Jargon-free marketing training for primary care heroes
It's time to shine. Reach more patients, grow communities & create happier, healthier lives through 'reyt good' marketing, social media & communications.
Need to create a communications plan?
Whether you’re leading a newly developed primary care network or managing a busy friendly GP practice, let Yorkshire Medical Marketing take you through everything you need to know about interacting with patients and writing your communications plan, once and for all. In one month. August to be precise.
Doing marketing and communications 'well' is getting tougher in a crowded world (even in lockdown!)
Invest some time from the 10th August 2020 and join our communications course made exclusively for primary care staff who don’t do comms for a living.
Get the inspiration you need to:
Write naturally and sociably (especially if you’re on social media) for your patients
Discover the secrets about what makes patients tick and how best to reach and engage with them online
Turn each of your communication channels from ‘mundane’ to ‘marvellous’ with ideas that will excite and catch attention
Draft a simple yet practical patient communications plan that everyone can get on board with, with the resources and time you already have.
Here's how we'll do it:
What do I get on this course?
4 x 60-min online tutorials - grab a brew, close the door and join your tutor, award-winning healthcare communicator, Kara Skehan once a week for a month, live on Zoom.
Over £250-worth of downloadable resources - easy-to-use templates, how-to’s and ideas to embed your learning and keep handy down the road.
30-days access to all training materials - in case something crops up (which it often does in primary care!) and you need to catch up later.
What support is there?
With short weekly homework challenges to put skills into practice, you’ll have everything you need to write an exciting, practical patient communications plan in just a month!
There’s also a private study group on Facebook where you can share ideas and get feedback in a safe, supportive environment with fellow practice managers, PCN leads and your tutor.
Sounds good but is this really for us?
YES if you want to:
Tell your community about new services, new roles or new ways of working
Build relationships with your community partners and get them involved in sharing messages
Motivate ‘healthier’ behaviours and empower self care in your patients
Shake up your current communication channels to be less ‘analogue’, more ‘digital-dazzle’
Reduce your workload and encourage help with patient comms from your talented team
Write a practical plan that spells out your actions and gets results
Make people aware that whilst you can’t always be perfect, you’re all working flat-out to deliver the best possible care in your community and patients should hear about that!
Who is the course actually for?
It’s for the person(s) working in the PCN or practice (further known as ‘comms queen’ or ‘whizz’) who’s going to be responsible for much of the delivery.
This course covers both the theory but mostly the practical skills you need to communicate well to patients.
When does the course go on sale and start?
The course goes on sale from Monday 6th July. The course starts week commencing 10 August 2020. We'll release the dates and times of the online sessions when the course goes on sale.
In a fast moving environment like general practice, Kara and her team have made sure that our marketing needs are met whilst also adding that extra sparkle when we have needed it to make the message crystal clear to our clients.
Kiran Johnson - Primary Care Direct
It's not only a pleasure to work with Kara, but she also provides excellent marketing advice, tools and techniques to promote our services.
Russell Houghton - Conexus Healthcare
We all thought we were pretty canny with social media but Kara taught us that you can't just throw things out and expect people to see it. Kara is very knowledgeable, incredibly professional but has a pragmatic approach to things.
Lisa Jamieson - My Health Huddersfield
Kara is fantastic to work with. She is knowledgeable, committed and creative. If I were setting up a new team I'd want Kara on it from the start!
Jayne Beecham - NHS England
